Leyla Akdogan | on Tumblr (USA/France) - Moon Angel / Jupiter’s Guide for Submariners. Watercolor & ink

Leyla Akdogan received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the University of Southern California, and studied jewelry design at the Gemological Institute of America in Manhattan. In 2005 Leyla relocated to Lacoste, France, where she studied illustration at the SCAD University campus there. In 2007 she moved back to Los Angeles & continued her studies with graphic novel illustration at Art Center in Pasadena. She spent three-years as a resident artist at The Hive Gallery & Studios in Downtown LA. One half of the art-pop duo Loch & Key (www.LochandKey.net), she devotes most of her time these days to creating cross-pollinated, intricate, and sometimes animated worlds inspired by vigilant daydreaming.
